Shyla Molhusen
Shyla Molhusen is a Junior Aquarist at the Harte Research Institute, where she assists with coral and jellyfish husbandry as well as tank maintenance. She is currently pursuing a B.S. in Biology with a concentration in Marine Biology and a minor in Chemistry at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi and is expected to graduate in 2027. As an undergraduate, Shyla became involved in volunteer work at the SeaLife Center, where she developed a passion for marine restoration and aquatic husbandry. Her academic interests center around jellyfish biology, behavior, and husbandry, with the long-term goal of studying jellyfish internationally and contributing to marine conservation and research efforts worldwide. She is eager to continue expanding her knowledge and gaining hands-on experience through her work at HRI. Outside of the lab, Shyla enjoys learning about diverse marine life, along with sunbathing and sewing new projects.
