Freddy Martinez
Freddy Martinez is a Graduate Research Assistant at the Harte Research Institute, where he analyzes human mobility data to support rookery island conservation along the Texas coast. His current research uses large-scale location data and Python-based geospatial analysis to better understand visitor activity on bird colony islands in the Corpus Christi Bay and Upper Laguna Madre regions.
A Corpus Christi native, Freddy earned his B.S. in Physics with a minor in Mathematics from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi before transitioning into data science. He enjoys applying his problem-solving and programming skills to conservation efforts in the coastal environment he grew up around. Outside of work, Freddy enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching sports, traveling to games and concerts, and relaxing with movies, TV shows, and video games.
