Emily Burger is currently attending TAMU-CC, majoring in marine biology with an environmental science minor, and she is expected to graduate in Spring 2027. Emily originally started in HRI’s Coral Reef and Ocean Health lab as an undergraduate intern looking for lab experience and was later hired as an undergraduate researcher. She is now working on a larger project studying oyster recruitment dynamics while assisting on other projects as needed.
In her free time, Emily enjoys working at the Texas Sealife Center—rehabilitating injured wildlife, training residents, and educating the public about our residents and environmentally friendly practices. After she graduates, Emily will go back to school for her wildlife veterinary technology degree with hopes of working in wildlife conservation and rehabilitation.
