Alexander Meyer
B.S. in Environmental Science, Southern New Hampshire University (2027)
Alexander Meyer is a Program Assistant for the Sink Your Shucks oyster recycling program, working with the Coastal Conservation & Restoration Laboratory.
Originally from St. Louis, Alex has spent the last five years working in outdoor education and management, with tourism experience in Colorado and Alaska, and has experience in coral restoration and education in the Florida Keys.
Alex is a NOLS wilderness first responder, a Red Cross lifeguard instructor, and a U.S. Coast Guard-registered captain. Alex earned his Associate of the Arts degree from St. Charles Community College and is currently working on his B.S. in Environmental Science with an emphasis on natural resources and conservation from Southern New Hampshire University.
Alex hopes to pursue a Master's degree at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
Alex's role at HRI includes supporting the Sink Your Shucks program’s daily operations, representing the program at public outreach events and restoration activities, and assisting the laboratory team in conducting field research.
