Sherry Bowers
Sherry Bowers, ACFRE, CFRE, is the Director of Development for the Harte Research Institute at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, where she serves as the strategist, architect, and leader for philanthropic initiatives that support HRI's mission to advance the long-term sustainable use and conservation of the Gulf.
With over two decades of nonprofit executive leadership and fundraising experience in South Texas, Sherry is passionate about connecting donors with opportunities to make a lasting impact through research, education, and conservation. She was drawn to HRI by its world-class reputation and the opportunity to help build a strong culture of philanthropy that supports groundbreaking marine science. She looks forward to helping HRI expand its philanthropic impact for generations to come.
Sherry is 1 of 118 fundraising professionals worldwide and 1 of just 4 in Texas to hold the Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive (ACFRE) credential. She and her husband have two grown children and enjoy traveling, especially to the Florida Keys and Las Vegas.
