Islander STEM Showcase

HRI will be sponsoring and supporting this year’s Islander STEM Showcase!

The event is schedule from 2-4 p.m. on Friday, March 20 in the UC Lonestar B/C.

The event will follow a similar format to previous years as its designed to highlight student research while fostering campus connection.

Event Overview

Poster Session & Resource Mingling (2-3 p.m.)
• Poster presentations by undergraduate and graduate students across all STEM fields
• Tables hosted by labs, clubs, departments, and organizations to share research, recruiting, and educational opportunities
• Random raffles every 15 minutes for checked-in attendees
• Free snacks and refreshments

Professional Panel & Awards (3-4 p.m.)
• A panel of three professionals/faculty members discussing STEM pathways, careers, and research
• Awards announced in the final 15 minutes:
– Undergraduate Poster Award
– Graduate Poster Award
– People’s Choice Award (voting via numbered poster ballots)

At this time, I especially welcome help spreading the word to:
• Students interested in presenting posters (this is a relaxed, supportive environment and great speaking practice!)
• STEM clubs, organizations, labs, and departments interested in hosting a table
