Matagorda Bay Mitigation Trust Environmental Research Symposium

The Matagorda Bay Mitigation Trust (https://www.mbmtrust.com/) has sponsored 34 environmental research projects from 2020-2025. There is a need to share results among the scientists who have performed studies under the aegis of the MBMT environmental research funding priority.  Convening these researchers will identify and share new knowledge learned about the system and enable the discovery of data gaps.  The current project will convene investigators of the projects to participate in a Matagorda Bay Mitigation Trust Environmental Research Symposium. The Symposium is scheduled for December  14-15, 2026 in Corpus Christi, Texas. The Symposium contributions will be published in an open access book to ensure wide distribution of the results. 

The Symposium will allow sharing information between researchers and the many stakeholders who have worked with the MBMT. Communicating research results with stakeholders will have a positive impact on their understanding of the state of the science for the project area. For example, one outcome could be demonstration of the need for action as it relates to regulating discharges into the bay systems.
