Samantha was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin where she completed her Bachelor's degree in Biology. She did her undergraduate research at the Center for Limnology where they monitored the Zebra Mussel invasion and studied their effects on the benthic community.
At HRI, Samantha will be analyzing samples from the southern coast of Cuba to look at abundance and diversity of benthic macrofauna in this region. The purpose is to have a baseline to compare in the event of a future oil spills or other events.
